Mirrored metal objects that seem marked by a long stay in the forest, in a haze of ancestral mystery, carry the timeless dialogue between the transience of the organic world and the apparent eternity of the inorganic matter.
Material in transformation: the breath of nature on the metal surface
The collection is born from an experimental process in which metal enters into dialogue with nature through oxidation processes.
The plant world is rich in tannins, natural chemical compounds that have the property of reacting with metals to form oxides and surface patinas.
Leaves and fragments of underwood plants are immersed in tannin-based solutions and other oxidizing substances to speed up and manage the natural oxidation processes, interacting with the metal surfaces to create unique and irreplaceable textures and patinas with variable color shades, completely organic and always unique.
The shape and grain of the leaves and undergrowth fragments are visible as water and tannins are transferred directly from the plant fibers to the metal surface, generating an oxidative reaction.
The result are environmental artworks that capture the fragility and mutability of nature, transforming pure metal into a living surface, capable of telling the story of time and the transformative wonder of nature.
Alcarol thus deepens the concept of “memory of material” exploring how materials react and transform over time. Each piece in the collection is the result of a process in which nature is not only a source of inspiration but a true active agent, capable of imprinting its essence into the material and design.
An aesthetic between nature and geometry
The shapes of the collection draw inspiration from the prismatic structures of metallic minerals, related to the concept of inorganic eternity.
Each metal surface embodies the breathtaking transformation of nature, capturing the subtle beauty of decay and regeneration.
These enigmatic and mysterious mirrored objects, however, are marked by time and organic elements of the undergrowth: from the transience of leaves to the eternity of metals.
As the metal meets the organic world, it reveals a dynamic interplay of textures and colors, reflecting nature’s remarkable ability to evolve and adapt.
The polished copper surfaces, marked by natural oxidation, reveal plays of light and depth, creating a dynamic effect that evolves with the gaze and the surrounding environment.
The result is a collection of products that not only celebrate the fleeting beauty of the natural world but also honor its enduring resilience.
